Welcome back! I’m super excited that I get to share with you another amazing book subscription box review and un-boxing. This post will be a little different because it’s actually my husband who is subscribed to The Nocturnal Readers Box so he will be the main reviewer for this post. (I will give my thoughts on what I think of it as well.)
My husband has been wanting his own subscription box for a while but could never find one that fit his reading preferences. I feel as though most of them are for the YA genre. My husband will read anything but with me buying so many YA books and sometimes receiving Owlcrate’s he wanted a box that would offer him something different. Thankfully we found The Nocturnal Reader’s Box. Here is a little about them from their website.
“We are a monthly subscription service that specializes in bringing our customers new and exciting books from well established authors, to lesser known ones. We curate our merchandise to keep with the theme of the books for a given month.
Each Box will contain:
1 Newly Released Novel
1 Previously Released Novel (NOT USED)
1 High Quality Custom Art Print that goes with the theme of the month
1 Custom wearable (hat, socks, shirt, tote, etc.)
Each box will also have a number of other items that we would like to keep a secret. This is not your average book box! We aim to fill the box with more value from practical items than you can shake a stick at!
So much More!! In fact OVER $60 worth of Items, for one low price!”
While this box is a tad more expensive than Owlcrate you really are getting A LOT in this box. You get TWO books instead of one plus a lot of useful goodies and wearables! Let’s take a look at what all was included in their March “Into the Woods” Box.
♦ New Release: The Devil Crept in by Ania Ahlborn. (My husband received a signed copy!)
♦ Previous Release: In a Dark, Dark Wood by Ruth Ware.
♦ A multipurpose survival bracelet including a whistle, flint/scraper and a compass.
♦ A “Campfire Story Champion” hat.
♦ An amazing wooden bookmark with the quote, “Here in the forest dark and deep, I offer you eternal sleep”.
♦ A exclusive Tea Blend from wickandfable.
♦ A loose leaf tea steeper.
♦ A pine air freshener for your car shaped like Sasquatch.
♦ A pin depicting a Sasquatch.
♦ A black envelope wax sealed with riddles inside.
♦ And last but not least Artwork by Onyx Studioz.
Over all my husband was blown away by his first box. He’s super excited to dive into the books they included. His favorite of the bookish goodies was the survival bracelet hands down. He put it on immediately and even started a fire using it! (I’m sort of jealous and want one for myself now! ) The pine air freshener is already hanging in his truck and he’s tried the tea. (This was his first go at hot tea really and he was pleasantly surprised. ) Over all he definitely recommends this book box if you or someone you know is looking for a book box that is out of the YA genre and packed full of amazing content.
Next months theme is “Trapped” and he had to sign up for that box too so I can’t wait to share it with you next month.
Here’s my husband’s rating of the box.
Let me know below what your favorite subscription box is. (Doesn’t have to be a bookish one!) I hope you enjoyed this peek inside and small review!
