Owlcrate Unboxing & Review 2/17

unboxing

I’m excited to finally be able to talk about Owlcrate on my blog. I know almost all of the online book community knows what Owlcrate is but I figured I’d touch base on what it is first. Owlcrate is a YA monthly book subscription box. Here is their description on their website.

“OwlCrate is a monthly subscription service that delivers newly released Young Adult novels and other bookish treats to your doorstep.”
And here’s what you can expect in each box!
♥ A hand selected and highly anticipated new YA release.
♥ Bookish keepsakes that are chosen to coincide with the theme that are chosen from family run shops.
♥ Exclusive items from publishers/authors you can’t find anywhere else. Most come with handwritten notes from the author and signed bookplates. One month we received a limited edition cover not found anywhere else!

Sounds simple AND amazing, right?

I was lucky enough to be subscribed for over a year straight but now I sort of just pick and choose the boxes I want depending on the months theme. Honestly, I’d get every box if I could but that’s not an option right now. (Adulting… ugh)
If you’re interested in getting an Owlcrate for yourself I will have a button at the bottom that will direct you to their site! Let’s go ahead and get into February 2017 Box!

The theme for February 2017 was “Run Away With The Circus”. Like I said above I’m basing which months I get around what their theme is. Part of the reason I wanted the February’s box was because I had a good idea of what book it would be and it just sounded super fun! Let’s just dive right into all the goodies!

♥ The book they included this month was Caraval by Stephanie Garber. This is the book I expected and I was so happy I was right. The hype leading up to it’s release was big and given the synopsis, I’m not surprised. It’s sounds soooo good. We also got a signed book plate and a letter from the author! Click on the name and go check out what it’s about. I can’t wait to read this and review it for you!

♥  The next notable thing in this months box was a amazing tote inspired by The Night Circus designed by Eviebookish. From what I can tell two different colors went out. Black and Red. I would have preferred black considering I have a red one they sent out last February. But I love it and will get plenty of use out of it non the less.

♥ On to the candle by Frostbeard Studios! They are one of my favorite candle companies and I own a few different scents from their shop. They made a special candle for this owlcrate called, “Le Cirque Des Reves” which was inspired by The Night Circus as well. The notes are popcorn, roasted chestnuts and bonfire. So basically it smells like heaven and is the perfect size for bubble baths.

♥ They also included a Cinnamon Donut flavored lip balm by geekfirelabs.
CINNAMON DONUT. Yes, it smells just like it and yes it makes you want to lick your lips repeatedly. Just don’t eat it. That probably wouldn’t end well.

♥ I love notebooks. Big ones… small ones… it doesn’t matter. Sometimes it takes me months (or years) to even write in them but I collect them all the same. That’s why I love the up-cycled notepad by atticjournals. It’s made using old casino playing cards and everyone got different card covers. I’m thinking one or both of my boys will steal this from me.

♥ The last thing were some super cute carnival page sticky flags by girlofallwork. These go perfectly with all the journals I’ve collected and can hopefully help me organize some of my writing ones!

That’s it! I hope you liked my first subscription box unboxing and review. I hope to do lots more in the future. I have another post coming over the March The Nocturnal Readers Box and a Reading Bug Box. If you’re interested in getting your own Owlcrate click the button below!  (March’s theme is Sailors, Ships, and Seas! Super jealous I won’t be getting this box so don’t miss out!)

Until Next Time
